Why does my epson cx 7800 printer keep turning off?

it was working fine and then all of the sudden it turned off. tried turning it back on and nothing. checked wires and everything is fine. waited a while and was able to turn it on, but it wasn't making contact with the computer. sent a alignment tester page and just when i thought it would print, it turned off. since then it hasn't powered up again. any suggestions?
